So, the plugs for the tach are already there then? And the wiring and everything? I know that in some cars they just put all the wiring in for options that the car may not necessarily have....?

thats correct. even though your car may not have come with a tach, it is prewired to FUNCTION with one. for instance, my 323 did NOT have a tach when sold new, but i swapped one in easily. its plug and play my friend.

Hey guys, I successfully swapped in a cluster with a tach, but failed to account for the fact that there will be different kilometers on the new one, it's up by about 40,000 niw, and although i'm pretty sure there is no way to seperate just the odometer and swap it, i've gotta ask! If you know anything, let me know!

as far as i know, the only thing you can do is roll it back.

well, luckily for me, the new cluster with tach had less miles than my car had on it. so i left it that way.

i cant remember exactly, but there should be little pieces of plastic that 'hold' the numbers in place. if you have some way of moving them, you can roll the numbers back. or maybe someone has a better method and would like to share???

Rolling back your odometer is simple. Just put the car in reverse and drive backwards until you reach the desired reading.
