Steering problem. PLEASE HELP

When I get over 90km/h (around 55mph I think) my car starts pulling to one side or another slowly... as if it were an alignement problem, but it goes both ways. It's as if it were really windy and the car was being pushed from side to side. For example, as I passed an exit on the highway yesterday, I was holding my wheel straight and the car almost took the exit on its own (sounds crazy but if you know what I mean it makes sense). It's like I constatly have to fight my steering wheel to keep the car straight, but I know what alignement feels like and that does'nt seem to be it.

It also gives me little shots every now and then, like the wheel will turn an eighth of a turn on its own.

Any idea what this might be?

I'm thinking it could be steering but it's fine in curves and such and never makes any sounds.

I was told it could be the top plates on the shocks.

I don't want to start changing all sorts of parts without knowing for sure what it is.

Any insight you might have would be greatly appreciated. If this has happenned to anyone else, please tell me what you did to fix it.

THANK YOU!
