speedo cable location

now i know that the speedo cable was pulled during my transmission work, im pretty sure it could be the cause of my shaky needle, but the picture in the service manual isnt very helpful...it shows a tiny shot and god knows where that is under the car...where is it??

From the tranny, behind the motor (near the starter), it comes up and moves into the firewall near the brake booster. You can disconnect the end from the top of the drive gear (I gotta remember to do this, as mine has started shaking at about 30 mph).

....now what?

ok so i found it...i unscrewed the big bolt from the tranny, slid it up, and pulled out the wire, some kind of goldish thingy full of tranny oil on the end of it...but it seemed to be on there pretty decent,, i reconnected it and tightened it and too it for a drive, its not as shaky before, but still some at around the 20mph mark, what else can i do to eliminate this?

Put some white lithium grease on the end of it. It might just need some lubrication.
