Sparkplugs and dealer recomendations

I just got my car back from the dealer this afternoon and they took a look at my plugs (bosch platiniums) and they say that pro's don't like them. Supposedly NKG's are the best and are cheaper! I'd heard that pro's like the cheap plugs but had not yet heard it confirmed by a dealer before.

The Bosch Platinums seem to like lots of Voltage, as they worked fine on my GMs with HEI. But I got high rpm misfire with them in the Protege. After my second set of NGK coppers (dealer-installed at 30k service...for about $10 ea), I went with NGK Racing Platinums. I'm on my second set. I clean and check the gap every year or two with no problems. But, unless you spend a lot of time above 6k rpms, the NGK copper work just fine.

YMMV, IMHO, etc.

Also I noticed that the insulators of the bosch platiums were starting to peel a little, do you think they were too hot of a temperature range?

Oh another thing, the little nipples on aftermarket plugs ( u know the screw on ones?) they ALLWAYS keep undoing themselves no matter what I do so thank god the NKG's have an integral nipple. Has anyone else noticed the "loose nipples"?

when purchasing the NGK vspec coppers, do they already come gapped for our cars or would we have to regap it ourselves?
