something wrong with my dx

What the hell is wrong with my dx, my car seems to sputter when i press the throttle or when it is idoling after i have run it for a while. This does not happen every time just when i run it hard or when it has been running for a while like i said. I bought a dist cap and it still does it, tommorow i will try my rotor, so what the hell could it be any theories.

Plug wires would be the next thing to try. Cracked ends can create a similar affect to what you describe.

I'd say it's the wires. Mine did the same "sputtering" thing too, but only when I gave it half throttle. Anything less than half it was OK, but come on anything less than half gas in a DX and you're taking off hella slow! Replace your wires, and the next time you remove the wires for any reason do not pull them by the actual wire. Pull them by the rubber part that covers the plugs.

I dont know if the problem you describe is the same as mine but does the "sputtering" occurs when for exemple you are in 2nd gear below 2000 rev (say 1500) and want to accelerate hard, my car does this and I dont know if its normal or not. Anyone?

I have an aftermarket intake (weapon R) tubes. I will try my plug wires next, someone told me it could also be a sensor that is starting to go bad or something.

Same here, in gears 1-3 my car sputters/coughs on acceleration when I floor it, its really annoying, I thought it was my exhaust system which needed replaced anyways, so I just got my DX back today and it still does it. I replaced the spark plugs so I suppose it could be the wire set, are wire sets expensive?

I'd say between 50 to 75 $ at Canadian Tire
