Talking RX-7 Style Taillights

Is there a place where you can get them? How much do they cost? Does anybody know anything about them? Thanks. They look pretty cool, especially if I was to get my car painted black. I think they would match very well.

Well

I don't know what you mean by what series. I just wanted to know if they're available? There's different series? Hmm...

Theres the generations:
79-85 is first gen 79-80 is sa22 81-85 is fb3s
I don't quite know how the series go for the first gen
86-92 is second gen (fc3s); 86-88 is series 4, 89-92 is series 5
93-02 is third gen (fd3s) --- north america stopped 'officially' selling rx-7's in early 95.
I don't know how the series go for the 3rd gen either... though I think they got up to a series 8... or something.
/end of crappy rx-7 lesson.

What year did you like the look of?

I think those look the best, even better than the Jspec FD tails

I saw it would be a fun little project if you can get the FC tails really cheap
There are some 92 FC's in north america. (91's sold as 92's)

UGH! I own a '90 RX-7 and I know for a fact that these cars were never sold in the US 1992 spec.

'92 FC3S (RX-7) were called Infini IV's and had 215bhp and were the best handling FC's hands down. They were never sold in the US, although they were cream of the crop in Japan, Australia, and elsewhere.

Perhaps a few were imported over here by a rich, select few, but the Mazda dealerships never saw 'em on their showroom floor .

-note the lack of a 1992 year.

UGH! I own two '86 RX-7's and what difference does that make?

I didnt' say we got actual 92 model year FC's here. Dealers rebaged 91's as 92's.

Those links are fabulous. They show what model years were imported to North America....

There were no 92 FC's right? kind of like no FD's were sold after 1995 right? Two out number one. You two must be right!

/edit: oh and a pointless link:

i dont think that ever happened, and if it did it was illegal or the like.

THe links were nice, and showed the CORRECT years on which mazda shipped FC's to america.

No FD's after 1995 were sold IN AMERICA... thats what we are saying, mazda didnt SEND any 92's or newer than 95's to AMERICA, yet they still MADE them for OTHER countries.

and what was the point of that little pic? so not eevrone knows trhe years they sold rx7's in america.

"I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that"......

FOR THE LAST TIME! I never claimed we got actually 92 FC's, nor 96 or newer FD's. BUT, There WERE 91 FC's sold as 92's and I've heard of FD's being sold from Mazda dealers in 96 and 97.

Notice that little pic is from racing beat. I think racing beat knows a little more about RX-7's then you and dre.

You need to look a little closer buddy. ha

We were saying that mazda never shipped the 92 model to america.

sure they can have overstock and sell them the next year, but they werent the real 92's mazda was shipping to other places

we are both right in different respects.

the 92 is identical to the 91 models
Sorry if I didn't make it clear in the first place that I wasn't saying we got real 92's... just rebaged 91's.

Though I wish we did

ok???

alright now that that discussion is over lets get back to the original post. ive thought about this idea before but i dont htink without some serious cosmetic work that rx-7 tails would fit on a pro anyway. since the rx is a little wider. but if someone has or is gonna do this i would like to see how it turns out. the round 89-91 lights are the ones i would prefer though.
