for first Gens,

This is what i have always done,
1) remove negative battery cable for 5mins or so then replace.

I read a post on another Mazda list that this is the actual procedure, (actually, Allan, your a member there too )
I think it was Doug, (master mechanic) who posted it.

1) remove negative battery terminal
2) press on the brake for 30secs
3) replace negative battery terminal
