Overheating
I was wondering if anybody has had problems with their Protege overheating. I have a 94 DX, only purchased it this past summer, and lately it will overheat. It seems to be a sensor to me, because after heating up quickly, it can immediately level off while I'm still driving. I know there are several different sensors, and the thermostat that I could try to replace, but I was just wondering if anybody knows of a similiar problem that might frequently occur in the Protege. Thank you for any help.

Check leaks on your radiator, or the sensor could be inaccurate.
My radiator had a leak near the sensor and i didn't notice it because it was so small that i only see steam coming out of it instead of liquid. no bubble, no nothing. it would overheat during medium to heavy stop-n-go traffic but it would cool down as soon as i started driving and the speed starts picking up.

I should've mentioned this already, but I have made sure that the fan is kicking on, my fluid levels are fine, and I haven't been able to see any leaks. I was hoping something that somebody else has had problems with something like the water thermoswitch, radiator thermoswitch, or the thermostat before I just tried replacing them one by one. These are the only sensors that I know of, from looking at the mechanic's manual and checking the cooling system. Thanks for the help.

Thank you very much, I just figure rather than starting to replace the sensors one by one, I'll try starting where somebody else had problems, and hopefully I'm in the same situation.
