New Info and Help Wanted

Whatz up people. Does anyone else becides me think that sponcership is a good way to go? I'm thinking about gettin sponcered and a local shop who specilizes in mazda's are intrested in my ideas. But im not sure yet. I still want to work on my own for now. I have a custom made intake pipe, which i am going to get rid of soon so if ne one is lookin for one, when i get rid of it you can have it, i want something a little bit larger, i have the RX-7 VAF swap in there with the drop in filter, i have the cat-back exhaust and a few other things done to it as well. I am thinking about swapping it for a DOHC :'( because i want to run turbo. I know of the bpt already but thats kinda expensive right now and plus I want to try and make one myself. But in the mean time, does ne one know of people with aftermarket Headers for 1994 proto? Turbo headers would be ideal but if you happen to have just a regular set of aftermaket ones i'll like to get those please ;->. I have a question about stock cams too, if i swap my cams for, lets say a venom sohc cam gear will it work? What other things can i do for the sohc proto thats not already done. And i want a short shifter too. All info is good info.

thanks,
Justin

lets see, getting discounts or getting paid to use other people's **** in your own ****... sounds like a good idea to me, just really helps if you've got a nice car... a severely customized ride... not a customized car with pepboy wing, fart tip, tint, wheels and air freshener with plenty of APC stickers to make you sick. now as far as headers, genie and pacesetter make exhaust headers for our cars. clueless still about turbo engines, so can't help you there. as far as your intake, if you've got a custom mandrel bent pipe, keep the damn thing until you're able to do a gtx/gtr swap. that, with the rx-7 vaf properly tuned, and cone filter and filter adapter would be sufficient, never really heard anybody actually jumping up the size of their intake tubing, and quite frankly, don't think it would work right. what would even be better than cone filter and adapter is a good CAI extention, can't beat the benefits of cold air intake.
peace

Make sure you do a search if you have a specific answer because a lot of your questions have been answered already.

What kind of sponsorship are you going after? Be more specific please

Genie and Pacesetter, i will be hittin them up. I'm lookin for a sponsorship to where they can get me parts for less or free in exchange for me going to the shows and showing them off. There are a few coming here to Atlanta and I plan on hitting all of um. Think about it. A finely tuned proto at a show lookin good and smokin the hell outta honda. that would be a show stopper. I love honda too though, im going to geta integra soon or a civic ex b18 swap. and still have my proto with bpt swap hella fast. if i get someone intrested i will make sure that i tell them about this forum, I like being different, not alone. Its a lot that I know but is alot that i dont and most of you guys know more than me. I have ideas but not exactly positive as to how to go through with it. Thanks 4 all ya help though.

If you want to be different then don't buy a Civic or an Integra, but invest that cash into the Protege

www.corksport.com is a good place to start your search as to what aftermarket parts are available for our cars. I don't recommend buying from them, as people seem to complain with their slow service, but they got a nice website with pictures and info that could be really helpful.

Another website that has a lot of parts for fairly good prices is www.nopi.com I have ordered stuff from them in the past and am more than happy.

I see that you are looking for power as well as looks. Check out the FAQ for detailed info on what swaps you can do. FYI the BPT is not your only option. For your turbo and engine needs check out www.barelylegaltransplants.com Branden should be able to help you out in that department.

Hope this gets you started and keep us updated on how the project goes.

Getting Started

I printed off the "suggested" upgrades that Brad has on his site. I'm going to start off small and work my way up. But the first think i'm thinkin of doing is getting that EVO front bumper and a intercooler so that they can have a preview of the car thats going to be smokin they slow asses. Most sponcers whats the car to be visually stimulating. i want to go for performance first then eventually hit the looks. But i'll start off small with the engine swap :-D. keep you all posted.
