well, it depends how much money you want to spend. I have a 91 SOHC pro and I'm saving up money to put a custom turbo on it next year. I have a K&N and will be putting a Magnaflow muffler on, but I dont' expect much power gains. The turbo system, however, will get me a lot more power.

If you want some speed right now, then maybe a NOS kit might be an option. If you have large rims, you might want to go smaller...in most cases, smaller rims=less weight=faster acceleration. Other weight savers would be to take out your back seats, take out the spare tire, etc.

Hope that helps.

well its true the smaller rims are lighter, it actually allows a quicker jump off of the line because you get more tire revs in a shorter time

Custom air filter? is that the adaptor that takes place of the air box..?

If thats it and you were expecting a 10-15 hp gain, u have a wrong perspective on ur car.

And any fool can put a muffler on a car, ull need a full exhaust to feel any gain in HP....

if you want cheap hp gain, order some stickers(speedpeople.com), cuz thats the road ur takin right now

why dont you go buy a dohc head and swap that in from a JY? also removing vics will cut a 10th off your 1/4 time. advancing the timing also helps but you gotta run high octane. if you were to do the dohc head swap, you should get a header and exhaust, seems you already got a muffler and get a high-flow cat from www.summitracing.com, their not spendy there.

i also have a 94 beige sohc dx. actually mine is pretty much stock as far as performance goes. I have the cone filter adapter and intake. i HAD my axle back arospeed exhaust, new plugs wires rotor and cap. I can keep up with my friends Civic EX (downpipe, flex, cat back DC SPts exhaust, Intake). I can keep up with him at the line, but after 50mph he zoooms off.

You could easily make ur car faster by, taking out the resonator/presilencer, striaght through muffler, high flow cat. That will improve low end RPM pickup. also can get a under drive pulley and a cam with a cam pulley (lightweight). Ive never heard of a SOHC doing that engine work. But if it works out, let me know. ill certianly do it.

thats just my .02
