Question Need help from all Mazda Guru's

First of all I will like to thank all of you for helping me many
times. I have a mazda protege 1994 with 75000 miles on it. The check
engine light started coming up so I asked one of the local mechanics
to take a look and it was the coolant sensor. Which they replaced.
The car ran ok for a week or so. After that the check engine light
came on and the car almost stalled and came back to life in matter of
few seconds. It did not happen again for a week or so. Mechanic took
it for a test drive and had no problems at all. According to him it
runs ok. It happens at random and only when the car is standing for a
while. I am not able to re-create the problem making it difficult to
repair. Can somebody please explain what I should do.

Thanks
Satish

have you performed the diagnostic check to get the error code, as to why the CE light came on?

No I have not

Thanks for your reply. No I have not done that because the light came up for a few seconds and did not stay on for an extended period. I can get it checked though if you think it will help the diagnosis.

The code will be stored in the computer's memory, which will definetely be helpful... as the check engine light means something was found wrong. Pulling the code from the memory will tell what was found wrong

Hello ,

Sorry for the delay. I Was very busy at work. I got the Haynes Mazda manual. Ran a Diagnotics check. It truned out to be 09. Which looks like "Coolant temprature sensor" . I would rather replace this . Do you know a web site which can sell this. I can check out local auto stores. Any tips welcome.

Thanks again for your help
