Question moisture problem?

most of the times i go to start my car in the last week to two weeks, the car will turn over and turn over, but it wont start, and i have to end up sticking a bottle of dry gas into the tank, and waiting about 30 mins and it will finally start, but it will be rough for about another 15 mins, so i have to let it idle before i can leave...

since dry gas removes the moisture what could be causing it to have moisture, or is that even the case?!

thanks
Colin

Sounds to me you need a new distributor cap and oring .I had the same problem with my 92 Dx .I replace the cap and the oring on the disrtibutor and problem solved. As the car gets o;der the rubber o rings tend to get hard . You may also want to change the o ring on the distributor shaft , This will prevent the oil leak where the distributor goes in. Its an easy fix . Just make the dist.undo the bolt remove the dist take off the oring on the shaft ,replace the oring ,reinstall the dist making sure it ges in the same way as it came out . If you were careful when you maked the position you shouldn't have to reset the timminig.

I have had the same problem. It usually happens when I let the car sit for a couple of days. I do a bit of traveling for business and often come home to a car that won't start for a while. I have tried replacing the Dist. Cap and O ring and still have the problem accasionaly. I wonder if there is a bad seal somewhere?

another thing, gas stations traditionally use fiberglass tanks under ground that get replaced every 10 years or something like that, and in these tanks, ground water seeps in, so when you pump gas, the tanks it's coming from has a little bit of water mixed in inside their tank. now i do believe that gas stations have warning systems and seperate most, if not all the water out of the mixture that is put into your car's tank. what i'm saying could be completely irrelevant, but you might also want to try a different gas station than you usually use. good luck.
peace
