Mo' Powa!!
Ok....... Here's a question for ya guys, what should I buy? In my area there is alot of DX's and not so many LX's. The perfect car for me would be a 93 LX 5sp, but after waiting for 3 months there has not been one in the paper, but there has been ALOT of DX's.
Obviously the LX is my fav (cuz of the DOHC) but should I settle for a DX? How much power can I get out of a SOHC without going converting to BP-T?

The 1G DX's with a manual tranny are nominally slower than a 1G LX as far as straight line acceleration goes in stock form. This is due in part to it's lighter weight. For auto-x you will do pretty well to buy a DX. The cost difference between the LX and DX can net you some nice suspension upgrades to have a competitive car. If you wanna drag race, the LX does offer more bolt on performance parts (headers, cams..). Just my opinion, but if you are torn between an LX and buying a DX only to do a DOHC conversion, you're better off buying the LX in the first place. But I still love my DX.

I have a 94 DX, the only thing you can do to it, is intake, custome header, exhaust, and u can get a DOHC swap (aka gude package) or get a turbo or super charger put put on it.
Thats all to my knowledge that can be done to a SOHC. I may be wrong
