i in meaning my parents bought me a protoge 323...i was like cool...sorta old car but cool...and they got it 4 300$ cause the clutch was messed and other interior problems...overall it was cool.....then when i looked into the engine it had a big fat "KIA" sign in the middle of it.... i was confused...i thought kia was merged w/ mazda or soemthing...i dunno....but lookin @ some pics her 2day...i saw what the motors look like...and i wanna cry...i dont know if im gettin the righ amount of HP from what im supposed to have.....anyways......thats it

I believe kia borrowed the 1.8 dohc engine from mazda and used it in their Sephia model. Could be the previous owner used some kia labeled parts which were really mazda anyways. You should be fine.

 

keep the kia valve cover that way when u beat a civic u could say thats its a kia
