Talking It's final....i'm getting the suspension...

I've decided to get the zx-2 suspension :

M-18000-Z2 - Tokico Strut Kit
M-5560-Z2 - Eibach Spring Set

I talked to Teresa Valley at oem....and the prices and shipping and exchange comes to just over $704 canadian..which it would cost just over $900 here for monroe struts and no name springs...so i've decided to go for the cheaper deal...and get performance suspension out of it ( I'd be an idiot if i didn't ) Now I've read the article on the installation and i have a few questions...

1) Are the only parts that i need to buy after the struts and springs the thrust plates and any worn nuts?

2) Do i buy the ZX-2 Thrust Plates or the Protege Thrust Plates?

3) Are the only modifications that need to be done on the spring perch....or are there more?

4) Is there anything i should tell my machanic, besides the grinding?

5) Does Anyone know of another place ( Preferably in Canada around the niagara region ) where i could get these struts or springs? Or if when they come across the border i need to pay duty on the packages?

If you could answer any of these questions that would be great...or if something isn't clear just let me know....as well...if anyone has run into problems or has any input...that would be greatly appreciated...thanx

1) no other parts, just the thrust bearings (well, possibly new rear bumpstops, but i didn't on my 90 pro)
2) Get the ZX2 thrust bearings, the Protege bearings are 2mm smaller and plastic. The ZX2 are the proper 22mm and are metal
3) no other mods
4) sure, have him change the oil, rotate the tires, change the coolant...but seriously, no it's a very simple task, just follow my how-to page
5) not a clue, sorry.

AHHHHh...too late

I wish you would have told me to have her write that an hour earlier...i have had this post up for a day and had no response...so i just ordered the parts today ....at 1:30....
oh well...
we went through usps...united states postal service....4-7 day delivery....and it was 1/3 the price for shipping...
so....i didn't know about other fees....i just assumed that either service would have the same thing...i just wish i knew about the warrenty replacement...damn.........do you have to do alignment after?

the totals were....$350 american for the struts and springs...so it comes out to 525 canadian.....approximately....and then ...when she quoted shipping costs it was $60 american for the struts.....so say the same for springs...$180 canadian shipping..then any other fees...
it's still cheaper...
so i'm happy

Are the ZX2 thrust bearings a generic part that can be found at most parts stores? I'm asking because I know a guy with a parts store and I get a 25% discount.. but they pretty much sell generic parts...

yeah..

a thrust plate is a thrust plate...i don't think that there is going to be much difference in a "performance" plate........but the only thing is that i need to get it from candian tire ( in store credit card ) or i can't afford to do the suspension this week...i will have to wait for 2 more weeks...and i can't do that...there is so much play in the front end it's not even funny
but i am so excited....we will have to get together as a protege group in missisauga....in a couple of weeks...i want to meet some of these pro owners in southern ontario....and then show off the new tight ride....:P:P:P

I GOT IT...it came today when i was on my lunch.....$708(cdn) shipping and cost of springs....and then i had to pay GST($67) so in total...for all of it shipped...i paid $775(cdn) ....not bad eh...better than almost 1G for generic stuff....

there probably are generic companies making the ZX2 thrust bearings, but for like $25-30 the Ford part is easily obtainable.

I got the thrust plates from canadian tire for $70 a piece ( about $42 american )...they go in in 12 hours so just follow the instructions on the mod page....for grinding the thrust plate...and that's it...right...
