How much for clutch?
Ok, so my protege seems to be loosing its kick now, I just got it from my Dad and it's got about 156,000 miles on it with the original clutch. It's been having problems these last few months when my brother drove and now when I drive it sometimes.
Early in the morning when I start it up and go I can only hit the gas a little bit before the car starts to shake. This happens for about the first 10 minutes of driving and then goes away after that.
Yesterday, I went over a speed bump in first gear slowly and after the bump I tried to speed up again and the car wouldnt move. It wouldn't do a thing-then the oil light when on, battery light and another light...freckin flipped out. With the momentum from the speed bump I pulled off to the side and checked the engine-it seemed fine. Started it back up and it was fine, weird stuff.
Now, my Dad dropped it off at one of the local gas stations and the guys are going to look at it tomorrow.
Is it the clutch that is bad? My dad said that its not smooth like it used to be and just doesn't feel right anymore.
How much would this cost to have this done-I live in NY where labor fees are about $75 an hour.
Thanks.

PseudoRealityX is right it doesn't sound like a clutch problem but just for reference the clutch kit here goes for $160+tax canadian (plus core fee).
Labour I would suspect about 4-5 hours(??)

Check for cracks in the intake hose piping.
