Help on testing fuel pump (323 1.6l)
Hello,
Car stalled during turn and won't start. again.
Had a few occurences of stalling during turns earlier, which makes me think of a wiring/short pb somewhere.
Car is a 91 323 5doors, 1.6 engine, carb (european version) has about 70 kmiles.
Towed the car back home and checked it : fuel pump is not running.
Pb can either be the fuel pump or the electrical command of the pump.
I check the voltage at the fuel pump connector with ignition on:
Black/green: 0V
Yellow: 7V (weird?)
White/red: 12V
My questions are:
- How to check the fuel pump? (it has 3 connectors on the fuel pump switch)
- How is the pump working (why 3 connectors?)
- Where is located the fuel pump relay?
Thanks a lot for you help!

I am thinking that what you are looking at
is actually fuel gage wiring. Is that Black/Green
wire really Black/Tan?
Looks like you need to find two relays. But first
check your 30Amp Fuel inj fuse. Its under the hood
likely.
HAve too go to dinner. I'll look back later.

yes that was the fuel gauge wire, on this car the fuel pump is mechanical ....
Sorry about that. Double checked the fuel pum: it's working fine.
Problem is ignitino/electrical, I'll post a new thread on that to get help.
Thanks
