Mazdaman,

I tried to e-mail you but it was returned and said the address didn't exist... so I guess I'll just post it here, and then I won't have to e-mail everyone..

Before I can make your gauges faces I will need three things,

1) A design you want
2)Your redline preference (6K or 7K)
3) $20.00 (I'll actually probably make them before I even get your money, lol)

I have made gauges of different colors for some of the guys, however, you might just want the exact ones that I have in my car. I can also put other logos in place of the Mazda logo that are on my gauges. If you had a different color in mind go to theColor Swatch Site and pick out a color, then e-mail me back and tell me what color you wanted.

If you want my design just e-mail me back and say, "I want your design." Then i'll know. :-) As of right now I am only accepting money orders through the regular old US Postal service, so you'll probably have to go to the bank or grocery or something and get a money order for $20. Please mail it to:

Jamie Hamilton
4440 Westgate Drive
Richmond, IN

Glazedham42@aol.com

I will finish and mail your gauges as soon as you specify a design, and I recieve a payment. Hope to hear from you soon so I can start production.. Thanks!

Ok, here's the deal... I took the little green condoms off of the bulbs, but they still shine through green. The numbers that tell the mileage of the car come through white, but that's it. If you could remove the old face that's on the gauge, you would get total illumination of the gauge in whatever color of bulb you're using. There is some kind of vinyl type stuff on the back of the gauge that makes it illuminate green also, so I don't even see the point of putting the green condoms on the bulbs.

I've tried to remove the existing face, as it is just some kind of coating that they put on the plastic gauge face. The only way I found to remove it is sanding it off. This will basically leave you with a scratched up piece of clear plastic, that you can then put my white gauge faces over. I think they would light up completely then, and the old numbers would be invisible. However, the sanding takes a long time, and you have to be really careful when sanding around the needles, because you obviously can't take them off...

I'm a little scared, and a little lazy to try this experiment, as I only have one gauge left, and it's my good one. I think I might still have some ideas up my sleeve though, for making them illuminate better. I'll keep you guys posted...

Just wannt share my 2 cents. I've previously changed the clear bulbs behind the cluster to blue coated bulbs. Man was I a fool. At night, the numbers were even greener than the clear bulbs. Finally, I switched back to clear bulbs. The reason it won't really work with any colored bulbs is because the face plate itself is GREEN. So whatever colors bulbs you put, it will have different shades of GREEN only.
Correct me if I'm wrong. BTW, awesome job on the white face. As you can see, the night shot shows greenish color shinning thru the white paper around the no-number area.

my red bulbs came out pretty well... I also have the blue bulbs and can't tell that much difference from the green in the small gauges, but I never tried them with the big gauges.
