EBAY Scam????

Check out this auction;
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6770

1)350 hp?? I don't think so, maybe 210??
2)Look at the feedback, 1 other sale, all the stuff has been 'buys',
and it looks like female things.
3)They say it will fit into a Honduh!!
4)The 'Buy It Now' price is too cheap; $1000, I don't know about that one. The price is great, but something stinks about this auction.
Opinions, anyone?

I dunno - looks legit to me. It does say 210 hp, and yeah, if you were able to run 17psi you'd be in the +300hp range, although we all know that our trannys can't take it. I think the price is about right, maybe a little low for a GTR. How many miles are on the engine? Did they buy it, install it, and run it for a while? If so, was the car raced at the strip? How much is shipping? What's included .. the entire front clip w/ all accessories? Tranny included? These are the things I'd want to know.

Sorry, I didn't see the 210 hp listed... but what I'm concerned with, is that the item is not consistent with what the sellers usual interests are, and that the person who is selling it has 1 other sale, the rest are all buys. That in itself should be of no concern, but in light of all the recent EBAY account hijackings, and the good price, it makes one think something's going on.

i too think its a scam. ive seen that exact pic on a website that was selling the motor. maybe it was corksport or sumthin, my guess is he just copied it and used that pic. ask him for some more pics of the motor. that should prove if he even has this thing.

Check this out, I emailed her;
"Hello, I am interested in the engine, and have a brother that lives in Great Bend, can he come look at the engine before I decide to bid??" (or something to that effect, I didn't save the message)
Reply-saved;
"the engine is at the shipping company ready to be shipped to the person who
buys it. if he wants to come down thats cool but the engine is in shrink
wrap to keep it out of the elements."

Well, it doesn't say 171 lbs. of boost - it clearly says 17. Guys, read the ad carefully before commenting. Pseudo's point about the engine fitting in a Honda is valid and the lack of more descriptive info, especially pictures, is concerning. If that picture really is not of the engine and they're unwilling to post more pics and more info, then screw them.

I just looked at corksport, that is the EXACT picture that they use to advertise the GTR engine.
One thing I'm wondering, Wouldn't the valve cover say turbo on it somewhere??

It says Turbo intercooled on the intake manifold.. It does not say 171 psi it says 17 psi . i know a EGT that ran 30 psi on a GTR turbo and he only pulled 325 hp the head needs to be P&P to get better results but i still dont think it would push 350 hp at 17 psi. But with a intake and 3 inch exhaust the motor will boost to 17 psi stock and prob be 260-275hp.The fact that it says it can fit a accord is reason enough for me to not send him a grand ...Jon

Well today i found the high bidder of the (GTR motor)online . Well right before the guy sent the money out i caught him online and we started a chatroom with a few proclub members (groharlem,turboge,turbo1g and myself).The guy said the motor had 210 hp without the GTR turbo and 350 with it. He said it had 0 miles on it and was brand new.he said he couldnt take pictures of the motor because it was still in original packaging . He also stated the motor weighed 300 lbs (it weighs 190). He said it fit in a accord . With those facts he didnt send out the money considering they never have 0 miles they dont have 350 hp they dont weigh 300 lbs and they dont fit in accords .. So scam caught???? U be the judge ...Jon

Lightbulb

in response to all your questions about the ebay account...i sent an email telling him why i thought he was jipping me, and guess who emailed me back...His mommy...So that will explain why they are buying thongs and earrings...lol,

The emails so you all can give your ideas on it....

"the shipping company has it marked as 300lbs. When it was shipped from the company he bought it from. It is a new engine. Of course there is testing miles,(very low) not in a car! When it was bought it was told to him by the company the types and yr models of the cars stated in the ebay auction that it would fit. This is Robert's mom you are talking to. I would never let my son use my ebay aution id to rip anyone off. I will have him email you back. With feelings that you are having I am going to ask the other ebay bidder if he would like the engine, if you and Robert decide to not do buisness together. Thanks Trish"

"ok, this is really strange, but i need to ask you some questions. some friends of mine have brought an issue up to me about this engine. i am quite underexperenced about this and they have told me that they think you maybe be selling me a different engine they you describe.
first the engine is not able to have 350 horsepower
2nd there is no way it can have 0 miles on it,
3rd theres also no way it can be new
4th it will not fit in an accord, accords have engins on the other side of the car..
5th it doesnt way 300 lbs. it only weighs like 190

all this is leading me to believe that maybe i am being riped off here. i would like to konw what you think about all of this and because of this i am goign to hold payment until we get it all straighten out...Thank you and please email me back. thanks Aaron "
