My car used to idle at a little over 1000 rpm now that I have been hauling around 900 phonebooks in it at once, and it has been stop and go delivering them, so it is idling like 5 hours a day, it has dropped down to idle about half way in between 0 and 1000 rpm...The hood used to rattle only when youi back up, well now, whenever THE CAR HAS Been running for a while, the hood rattles, and ALSO, when im backing up it does it...anyone have any idea whats wrong, and where should I be idling do you think?

my second problem now is, the drivers side door auto seat belt locks up sometimes, and if I open and close the door several times , it starts going again...It will also start again if i open and close the passenger side door, this sounds like a short in the electric system, am i right?

 

common problem with the rattling bro. Something to do with the transmission.

 

your seatbelt is also a common problem. there was a recall on most Pro/323's. check with your local Mazda dealer. they should fix it free of charge.
