I'm not trying to offend you Maz94, but I have noticed that your posts are rather often irrelevant to the discussions on this forum. I am not looking for an OEM light for my trunk...it's sitting right in there just as it was the day I got my car. As well, I never said that I was looking for one! Maybe you should start over from the beginning and read each post very carefully before replying.

(To make it easier for you, I will explain further....as I said in my first post, there has always been a socket mounted to the roof of it with 2 wires going to the socket. Hence why I do not need a trunk light from a salvage yard. We have been discussing a missing pinswitch which is perhaps the cause of my malfunctioning trunk light, and I asked for any suggestions for an upgraded light...but once again, nothing about replacing the OEM trunk light entirely.)

On a different note, most likely the reason that you have a trunk light in your DX is because yours is a 94...in the later years of the 1st gen pros, a few things were added to DX's...tachometer, cupholders, and apparently a trunk light pinswitch.

Cool

Hmmz Darryl, it's rather difficult to get into my trunk other than through the lid...because my amp rack is mounted to the backseat But I'll give it a looker!

thanks Will, saves me the trouble

yes, the white part is the pin switch, and yes the arm hits it to turn the light on and off.

Talking Junkyard Searches & wonderful lighting!

Well, after going to 15 or 20 junkyards, I finally arrived at a Pull-It-Yourself yard that had a Protege, and I got the trunk light switch and the light cover. I got up to the counter, and the lady was like "uhh...thats it?" i said "yeah". and she said "take it, come back when u want bigger stuff" so I was like tight I got it for free...went home, took me 20-30 seconds to install, and whammo I had a trunk light. didnt even have to solder..the stock plug was in my car...all I did was screw in the switch and plug it in. simplest fricking fix in the damn world. THX EVERYONE, PROBLEM SOLVED
