Chugging.....

OK somehow I managed to plow through 1 foot high snow drift and nearly hit the ditch at 50mph...first like to say that my Protege made it through and a 1.6EL didn't
Anyways five minutes later my car looses power and starts chugging bad. So I get home, shut it down, start it up 5 minutes later and it runs fine, chugging a little under heavier throttle...8 hours later I start it up after work and it runs like nothing happened
Any ideas what could have caused this so I can make sure my engine is fine???

Thanks!
Rob

Was your car running really hot? Last year when I had my beretta gt, I drove through about 1/2 mile of snow up to my bumper (no lie). Anyways, a lot of snow got packed into my grill and engine comparment, and no air could get into it, so it was overheating. Also, I had so much snow in there that my accessory belt snapped, which also lead to my overheating...

Anyways, you could have just had some snow blocking your radiator or something, making it run really hot and sluggish. The snow could have melted by the time you got off of work.

I dunno, it's one theory : ) Long live the '88 Chevy Beretta GT snowplow!!!!!!

water on wires

It's possible you could have gotten some melted snow under your wires. This will cause a car to "chug" as you put it. Good part is, once the water evaporates, problem is solved. I wouldn't worry if the car is running fine now.

Exclamation CAUTION!!!

If you don't be carefull about the wires you buy on the proteges ....you will burn a set of plugs REALLY EASY!!! I went through a set...the same thing happens when you wash your engine and do not dry around your plugs....the water sits in there and your plugs will corrode.....go to www.protegetech.com and check out maintainance and performance area....i learned about it there.....my bet is the water under the wires....check the plugs and make sure there is no real damage done...you could be eating un-nessisary gas...

Really once the water is gone...there is nothing much you can do....

Just FYI...

So where abouts in niagara so you live...there wasn't that much snow in st.kitts.....port colburn??? erie??? Thorld???

i wish i had that much snow.....
