Some of you may or may not know, but ive had mad crazy transmission problems w/ my 1st gen auto. Last night it just decided to stop moving, forwards, backwards, anywhere. Other than that damned transmission the car is perfectly wonderful. buut after some talking and asking around, its been decided that its NOT worth dumping another 500-1500 dollars for transmission work, so sadly its time to let it go. My question for you people is how do i go about selling this car? i know damn well a dealer isnt gonna take a non-moving vehicle in as a trade in or a buy, so my only options are:
1) sell the whole car to someone who needs it for parts/backup?
2) part the car out, but it may not be worth it if im unable to sell all the parts and if it costs alot to dispose of leftovers/the frame.
3) donate it and get a happy tax deduction, which usually goes by blue book value but seeing as how my car is not MOVING it may be incredibely low.

Please help me out w/ this, i cant be w/ out a car for long , so i need to squeeze my $$'s worth out of this one good. Thanks for the help guys.

 

well IF there is a market for the parts.... you can certainly get more for the parts than with it all together.....

the motor still runs fine and with it in the car you can DEMONSTRATE it running to a buyer...that is always a good thing....

the rest of the car will be harder to part out....seeing as how you would be needing to find people in NEED of the body panels...or interior parts...or windows.....wheels/tires.....

it could take a while to part it out......

 

hell.. i could use the front bumper.. lol wrecked my mazda a little while back.. hell.. is the body in good shape? interior? how much you want for it? i need a new front bumper.. driver side doors, rear driver side panel, front driver side panel (damn kids at school like to kick ****) oh yeah.. you know the flex pipe at the beginning of the muffler (after the headers) is yours still good? i need a new one, mine has a hole.. but they're 100$ + a piece!!! lol.. what color is your interior? 50% of my interior needs to be replaced.. i need the back window board, the rear seat, the front seats, and i could use a few wires.. lol.. let me know what you wanna do.. and prices for the listed things, if you know what you want for em

 

misbah, is it a dx or an lx? what color is it?

 

its a red DX, im not sure about the whole guage cluster thing, but its the one w/ a tach.

edit: as for individual parts , email me with requests, although id like to sell the car as a whole, mostly for time issues, as for the price im aksing 700obo for the entire car, but theres a thread in the for sale section concerning that.

if your mass air flow meter is working..should keep it. got many messing em when installing cone intakes (i did). can sell it to those in need.
