Body Kit Solution

Hey guys, whats goin' on? Well i was going to order a bottom lip for a honda civic and put it on the 'ol pro, so i took off my bumper and cut out the grill? (so i can put mesh in), and to my amazement at my job (workin' at a body shop) i found an ol '91 Acura Integra front bumper. So, i said what the hell, and put it on my car. Well it FITS!!!!!! I had to take off the bumper support and all that is holding it up right now is four screws, but if someone will post pics for me i can send them to you. I'll go ahead and pu the grill back on so you can see what it looks like, but i think i have solved one of our problems, and giving us more versatility in body kit designs. I'll try and get the pics tmrw, so if someone would like to post 'em for me just let me know if not i guess u guys can take my word on it.

Allright i can do that i just took the pics so i'll e-mail them. The only problem is the bumper support has to be taken off, thus causing the bumper to sit about 1 1/2-2" low, but if somebody was really serious about doing this then you could take the time to fabricate it, or just custom make a bracket for the bumper. I do advise anyone that is going to try to do this to first get a junked up bumper (prob from a junkyard, but try and get the most scratched up holey piece of **** that you can that still has all the mounting points intact) and first trying to get that bumper to mount up flush instead of spending the 300-400$ for a fiberglass one that you really don't have much room to **** up on before you have to take it to a shop to repair the fiberglass that you cracked and fubar'd. But any who the pic's didn't come out too well on my camera, and i just cut up the bumper.............I have plans for it. HeHeHe..........well i'm just gonna take about 4 inches off the bottom and custom make a lip for my bumper. So i guess i'll let you guys see those pics later when it's all over with. titocruzsd you have a pm.

well.............i would take more pics of it but before i got to see the ones that i took and how crapilicious they were, i allready started cutting up the integra front bumper.....and i don't have another one so.. I cut about 4 inches off of the bottom of the 'teg's bumper and am going to use it as a "lip" for my bumper. My car won't be three different colors, i'm gonna paint it first before i put it back on...... i still gotta "mold" the two pieces together.

that looks really good... i did the same thing with removing the stock grill and replacing it with mesh... its alot easier to see on the earlier years than it is with my 323 because its soo small of an opening...
what color did you chose to paint your car?? looks really similler to mine, and i love my color (Lexus Matalic Midnight Blue 2002 color) looks HOT in the sun...
also good choice of rims... those rims seem to be "the thing" with mazda owners (especially earlier models p 1+2)
That lip looks good... i want to see what it looks like all finalised... should look good... post more pics soon

the blue on the mazda 6 is pretty badass too. there is a Strato blue and Lapis blue and Blue Pacific Mica depending on where you get your 6 from. i was going to use a blue that was on the 89-90 VW Corrado kinda like the 6 blue, but i think im just going with black

Yeah i
ll try to post pics later after i finish the bumper, and get my racing seats in ( they should be here by thursday so....) The color is a midnight blue mica from the 2002 Aston Martin. Yeah i notice that alot of the mazda owners have these its funny. but i allready finished up molding the sides of the bumper together, what we did was screw them together to keep it steady and used an oxy-aceteline torch (welding) and heated up a putty knife then melted the 2 pieces together. We're not too sure how it's going to hold up 'cus we haven't tried anything like this before, but we reinforced the bond with epoxy and we're going to add rivets. so all i gotta do si the middle part of the lip now. I have a question for you guys what would you think of a piece of aluminum going across the bottom lip? like just around it and riveted on, not the whole thing but maybe 2/3 of it???? Let me know cus i might be doing it, but i'm not too sure how well the aluminum is going to stand up before it starts looking ugly and disfigured. Oh by the way with this lip on i only have about 3-4" of clearance from the ground.........hehe oh well later guys.

I got it all molded together now looks good, i gotta go over the epoxy with glazing putty (it's kinda like bondo, but not quite) so i can smooth it all out. I put the bumper on tonight because i went to the drags (ran a 17.77 don't think thats too bad w/ SOHC.........is it?) and man that damn thing scrapes everywhere. it only has about 2" off the ground, a little lower than i anticipated. I think it's just 'cus i put my steelies back on for the races, so after i put on my 17's it should be raised about an inch. Gro the reason the 'teg bumper "sags" is because i had to mount it to the.........bumper support's support? Well, the brackets that the bumper support is bolted onto. if it would have fit around the bumper support than it would sit up there flush; except for the little "something"(at aloss for words) that comes up about an inch or so in the very middle of the bumper at the top. It also sits alittle higher without the grill on there because the grill puts pressure on that "something." Well i should have the bumper done by tmrw or monday. Tito is it allright with you if i send you the finished pics, and u can post 'em for me? Pretty Pretty pls. Oh and one more thing.....does the lip on my car look like the lip on the Pakfieker GTX bumper? I'm too lazy to look it up right now. Nevermind I'll check...........later

Yeah i would go ahead and order one and try to fab it to fit, but right now me and my dad have spent alot of time getting my original bumper to look good with the lip. So i'm just gonna stick with it, and besides that i know for a fact that i'm the only one with this bumper on a pro........well maybe not the only one, but there's a pretty good chance. With the way that it is turning out right now i think that it looks pretty bad ***. I'll go ahead and take pics of it right now so you guys can see the development.
Peace, Grease, and chicken......oh wait nevermind.

hey tweeaks, i think the integra front looks great on the pro, good job. also your paint color is beautiful. i have two questions for you. 1. what kind of wheels are those on your car. and 2. this is for anyone who knows how to do this, how do i go about installing the mesh grille in my car? i think that the mesh really looks sharp and would like to do this to my car soon. oh by the way, does anyone know where i can get some mesh cheap? thanks a lot.

Mustang josh..... the rims are motegi mr7 or the ones on my car are Omni Concepts N7 (same damn thing) but his are in a gun metal and mine are silver alloy.... and the way i chose to put the mesh is is all explained on the second page of my link: http://www.cardomain.com/id/highbody/ .... i chose to cut out the factory black mesh crap... but i heard that some people cut the mesh out and used some kinds of tie downs to do it, and there are some people that bent it funny to fit... i think that my way looks most professional, but it depends on what you wana spend and the time you wana spend... i baught my mesh at a erformance shop.... 50.00 for a 1.6x3... but it is the same stuff as gutter mesh you can get at home depot or most house ware stores...
