belt changing.
I would like to know if anyone could give a hint on how to change the power steering-a/c belt. i can't fit my hand under the pulley for the adjuster and I can't fit a wrench in to the bolt that is blocked by the huge friggin' hose (bolt nearest to the inside of car) any tips are welcome. also while doing this i loosened the alt. belt and pulled it tight (it must have been lose before because my car has no more hesitation. it runs beautifully, and doesn't backfire anymore when I let off the throttle. (espically while revving. yes I have a fart can. so i can hear my car very well. and now it even sounds good. I say this to stress tightening the belts around 20000 miles and replacing them 60000. the difference is humongous. probably cause i have a very worn & streched out belt
sorry so long

You need a 14mm wrench to loosen the upper nut on the P/S pump. And a 14mm socket for the other two nuts. I actually use two, as my 3/8 drive isn't deep enough for one, and my 1/2" drive is too deep for the other. And you need to remove the plastic pieces for clearance. Once you have the belt on, pull on the bottom of the P/S pump to take the slack out of the belt and then snug the bolts. I use a 1/4" drive to tighten the adjuster screw. Once it's tight enough, you can tighten the P/S bolts. And then put the plastic pieces back on.
Sounds easy, right?
