Is anyone having, or had a problem with thier pro not staying in alignment? It seems as though my car is out of alignment already, got it aligned not even 6 months ago, and it just shakes all to **** when you get up to a high speed. what do you guys think, change the CV's and get a new alignment? my dad changed the CV joint on the drivers side last year sometime, and I dunno, but maybe I need to change passenger side?

well......we don't have a pep boys, and I think I will find someplace good to get it aligned once I drop my 17's on the car. I guess I will just have to deal with it for the next few weeks!!!

If you got your tires at America's Tire Company or something like that they'll often balance them for free. In fact you can probably get away with taking your car there anyway if you didn't buy from them, think I've done that before

 

If you have persistant wheel/tire balance problems, you need to find a shop that has a Hunter GSP9700 balancer. This is a very expensive machine (like ~$10K), so not every shop is going to have one. The ones that do are usually good shops since they care enough to buy the best equipment (not always of course). This machine can do all sorts of things that a normal tire balancer can't. The main difference is that it has a "road roller" that applies road-like pressure on the tire as it's being spun. This gives a more real world type balance. It can also detect run-out in either the tire or the wheel and tell the tech exactly were to place the tire on the wheel. I found a shop that has one of those balancers, so hopefully, that will fix the problem. Thanks for all the input guys, its really appreciated.

 

my problem like this was the tires themselves. balancing them didn't help. Once they were replaced...no more problem


Also, check the wheel bearings. Had a problem with those a while back too which cause a "skateboard" feel

 

I don't know to much about this so correct me if i'm wrong. If the tire is wearing on one part of the tire than another (all the way across the tread) it could be caused by the belts in the tire moving. Basically if thats the case, the tire is garbage. Now thats just what i've been told

 

That's what aused mine to wear like that so I agree. Could be bad camber angle too...

 

Well, I may look around, and take my wheels off and check and see what, if anything is wrong down there. hopefully, nothing is wrong, and everything will work out just fine, once I get the tires balanced, and all that jazz.
