I converted my 92 Protege to R-134A and after I serviced it, the a/c clutch chatters/rattles at idle and it won't cool. However, if I increase the rpm's, it works great! Has anyone else experienced this problem? I would greatly appreciate any help with this issue!

 

sounds like the clutch is going bad. The new R-134A is part refrigerant and part lubrication oil. Sounds like your compressor is just burnt up.

 

I have the same problem...anyone figure this one out yet?
