86 323LX with 2.2L

A ways back I owned a 1986 Mazda 323LX with a 2.2L engine and tranny from a 626... quick car. And those Honda guys say they started this swap thing!

Well, the neat thing is I bought it used (as-is), at a dealership for $1200CAD, and only really realized there was something different about the car when I went to change the oil the first time... that and the rear brakes were disks. I went to a wrecker and looked at the 323's and couldn't find one with the same motor, so I checked the 626's, and voila, there was the exact motor. I wish I could help you out, but I ended up selling it for $900 a year and 60,000kms later, had some intermittent stalling/electrical problems (probably gremlins related to the odd swap) Other than that, I had the clutch replaced, some pads/rotors, and the rad. I don't even have any real pictures, at the time I was in school (about 10 years ago), but if I can find any I will post them.

I've heard of this swap. I believe you have to lean the motor back at an angle and fab up new mounts obviously
