Talking 2.5" to a 2.25"

For all those people who think bigger is better, it's not true. I had a 2.5" exhaust on my Pro and changed it to a 2.25" exhaust. Not only did I notice the change in the tone, but the throttle response was much, much greater. Go 2.25"or 2".

Yea, 2.5" on a low-power NA engine is a bit much. Especially on the auto, it really kills the bottom end. The 2.5" will make more peak HP, but 2.25" is a much better choice for a low-power application (drivability-wise).

I'm going to stick with the 2" stock pipe, which appears to be mandrel bent. I don't know if it's stainless or not, but it's in excellent shape for it's age. Of course, being in FL helps a lot too. My Borla ZX2 muffler is on it's way - can't wait!

IMHO

2.5" if your gonna drag race (or go turbo, then maybe even 3")
2.25" if your just toolin the streets
2" if you autox race or need better low end

I thought the stock diameter was 1 7/8" Maybe that's just for the 323s?
