1st gen Front Grilles

I noticed that the 90-92 front grilles on the 323's look a lot nicer than the one on my protege and I was just wondering if it they are interchangeable?

And same thing with hoods, are they interchangeable? my buddy's 93 323 has a nicer hood than mine with 2 nice grooves on it!

The '94 proteges came with a hood like that on the 323, but the headlights and fenders are different also. I don't know if the grilles swap from those, I am pretty sure they do from 90-93.

I don't have the rectangular lights. My lights are identical to 93 323 but only my grille has the mazda symbol in the center and I think it looks a lot better with just the "mazda" lettering on the right like the 323's have!
As for the hood, his has 2 grooves comming from the back (windshield) to the grille to give it a little more agressive look... maybe the LX/GT's have the same hood?

Really? Sounds like I need to look around for 323 grille then. I have a '94 with the same hood you mention and the slanted headlights. I've never seen a 323 grille with the Mazda emblem instead, anybody got a pic?

if u swap the hoods it would look ugly. The 323 hood will fit but there is a lined lip at top of the hood where the windsheild it. it contors with the doors that make the line wrap from the rear windows, accross the doors to the hood then to the oppisite side. The doors are slow non-interchangable, because they are longer then the protege doors, id say just go for the Grille swap.

Thanks Felix ... if you ever see one of those in your junkyard visits lemme know. Btw, I'm still looking for that passenger front door panel. If you see a really nice one (ie. black, no holes, tears, etc.) lemme know about that too. The fabric part doesn't really matter b/c I'm gonna have all four doors re-upholstered anyway at some point.

I know of a panel that you might want then, I will take my camera and get a picture of it. (I need the door that its on for my car).

I should be able to find that grille too.
