Uh Oh!

Well, I knew the exhaust on my ride was going to ****, but I didn't know it was this bad. Yesterday I was driving and hit a bump and all of the sudden my Pro became 100% louder. I got home to check it and found out my exhaust pipe was disconnected from my muffler, though everything was still mounted properly, just disconnected. There is no way to connect it back w/o welding, nor would I want to b/c when I pulled it off and shook it a bunch of metal and rust flakes came pouring out---it sounded like a giant ******* salt shaker!!! So I guess I have to replace my exhaust, but have to wait a month until I can afford it. I did lose some power as well, w/o all that back pressure and all, but to be honest, it actually sounds like a mean lil' street machine!!!!!!!

Don't wait till the local cops give you a "letter of appreciation" for your exhaust. You'll have 2 bills to pay. See if a muffler shop can patch it for now.

i would 'acquire' the money to do it now, instead of waiting. as was stated, it will cost you more if you get pulled over by the po-po's.

also, when i say 'acquire', take that as you wish...

im not suggesting anything like that. by 'acquire', you could take that to mean get a loan from a bank, parents, etc. just dont get all bent out of shape on me. it was merely a joke.

please dont start with whole "backpressure" thing...back pressure doesnt make power...if anything your car gained horsepower without the muffler...although i bet it sounds annoying...you could get a cheap $15 muffler for now and just clamp it on with a muffler clamp...works as a temporary fix

thanks for the compliment. im trying to sell the bastard as of now, but if i dont sell it soon, i guess ill start sinking money into it again. i already have a front and rear bumper set from Pakfeifer waiting on me. just gotta come up with the cash.

BTW, dont get too frustrated with your car. this too, shall pass.

When I had my Focus, I chopped the exhaust off after the cat and put a glasspack and a 45º out the side. Showed huge power gains. Showed even more when I took the 45º off and had just a straight exhaust.

But I don't want loud. I'm getting a 2 inch exhaust w/ a muffler on the end (not sure what kind of muffler I want) ran off of a header (probably genie or pacesetter)

It was loud. I got an "appreciation notice" from the State Trooper... lol... also, my friend's parent's forbid me from parking in front of their house if I was staying late, because my car woke them up. Sometimes it would set off car alarms...

I miss that car.

haha..thats funny..makes me wanna chop mine off!

I just did a 2 and a quarter inch exhaust..ran from the headers back and tossed the cat out the window..I put a magnaflow muffler on it and it sounds good...not like an angry bee. Gained a little power but not enough...

Back to the TII...

I got a huge APC muffler for my Pro. I'm looking to gain 50hp by putting it on.

Well, OK, I really did get the muffler (I got it brand new for $20 shipped (<3 for eBay)) but I am not expecting to see any gains.

What size is the stock exhaust?
