RX7 VAF question- SOHC?

I searched and couldn't find the answer. Will it work with the SOHC motor? If not, what will?

yeah, what he said. from what i've read it's only beneficial above 6000 rpms. and that's the sohc redline. so save your money.

Maybe you could help me- what are the HP/TQ numbers for the 1.8L SOHC?

If I got an adj. cam gear (are there any?) then I could bump the redline up a bit and possibly see gains.

It helped mine and it was noticeable. Don't bother arguing. Btw, I used to beat LX's with my DX. That was my only major mod.

bullsit

and adj cam gear would be pointless, you only have 1 cam gear!! so there is nothing to adjust, just cange your *******. adj cam gears reap benifits by adjusting the exaust timming form the intake timming.

bullshit, bullshit, bullshit. and i have been tuning my b8-me for a long time, and i can tell you there is no way your only mjor mod was a cam gear and you made more power than 129bhp!

dude STFU, i am calling you out!

Actually, you're wrong. Retarding the cam on the SOHC would cause high-end gains. Neon guys do it all the time, and the SOHC VTEC Honda engine is based on the same principals.

The point of an ADJ cam gear is to allow you to adjust the cam timing to where the car makes the best power. In general, retarding the timing will gain in high-end by raising the HP and TQ peak RPMs, advancing will show low end gains by lowering them.
