What did they look like *before* you filled them? Snapped some pics of #3 and #4, they LOOK good to me (haven't noticed any problems)... good enough to take off the engine cross member without the engine falling on my face, you think? (remember still gotta do that tranny filter). (Nevermind the last pic, is that the engine VIN label? Dirty as hell )

well ur side engine mount is the same as mine, bot the pic of the tranny mount that you showed me , I never touched. I was trying to get to the one under the tranny in the rear that bolts to the crossmembers. That was a bitch to get to.

Funny I get a lot more vibration now in the car ... so that is something to think about , but hey at least I know my motor is not frigin moving around.. I am glad as hell for that

Well when you get those really stiff mounts it decreases comfort...but increases performance right? Oh I just meant those look ok enough that I can take off the cross member and drop the auto tranny oil pan, like in the other thread, hehe. I can see the one to the front of the grille, looks decent to get to, one in the back, damn, annoying I'm sure

I think there is another tranny mount in the rear that you mount the tranny to... so you may be able to get away to a degree with unbolting the crossmember ,, but are you sure you can't just put the jack on the tranny and jack it up. and then pull the pan out

I couldn't get the clearance I needed. So I got the crossmember off, and the pan off, the two magnets were covered with what looked like sludge....but were thousands of metal fragments. . There was no gasket, only some red sealant stuff, and barely at that. Does that mean it was still sealed like from the factory? If so then to the previous owners. Now I just gotta get the engine back up so I can get that cross member back on. Hehe. For the mounts down there, are the threads sticking out coming from a bolt I can unscrew? I'd check it out but it's 3:30AM, gotta sleep now. Sorry for all the stupid Qs, at least I am learning.

what thread sticking out are ou talking about. The engine mounts, front and rear both bolt up to the crossmember..
When I drop the 1.5 out the protege next week, I am gonna just unbolt the crossmember and drop the whole engine out the bottom

See the threads from those bolts (the 2 close together specifically)..I checked no they are not removable. The two close together are from the mount. They don't line up to the crossmember (you twist a nut on from the bottom) cause the engine dropped. So I just gotta raise it 2 inches or whatever. Time to borrow an engine lift thingy, or find some way to lift it a bit, I don't really like the idea of trying to lift from the oil pan, even with a piece of plywood. There's probably a better place to do it from. Let me bump the other thread with pics of the 2 magnets in the oil pan...

yeah that's your rear engine mount,
you will have to raise the motor back up and do some movine and sliding to get everything to line up ...
Really I would put the crossmember on the jack , rais it up and put the engine mount bolts on first .. then jack up the crossmember and just try to move the member to get the holes to lighn up and put the bolts in..
