Thumbs up BLT Racecar Stage 1 Complete!

The 4th of July is not only an American celebration.....it's also time to work on the Racecar!

With help from Darryl, we managed to evacuate the entire interior out of the Turboge in about an hour or so. Estimated weight savings total approx 200lb so far. The crash bar behind the dash was about 20-25lbs. So far so good!

The only items that remain in the car are the 2 MX-3 seats, 2 5-point Camlock harnesses. The steering wheel/column and the stock gauge cluster. A new bracket will be made to accomodate the steering column at a lower height and to re-mount the gauge cluster.

I will post some pics up this weekend, we should be getting a motor in the next 2 weeks and have the car running soon! Just picked up some stock wheels and a set of Falken Azenis Sports.

The turboge is getting a set of Azenis for road/drag racing. The suspension is being finished up shortly with the addition of the ST rear bar and the OTLM lower rear bar. And in the near future will be getting a ST Front bar.

This weekend I am filling all the motor mounts with Windo-Weld to ensure a good solid engine staying in place.

After that I may try to work something up with the dash in flat black. And will probably get a cage built up for it so it is officially legal to run in all track/drag events.

The motor is going in as an N/A BP 1.8 DOHC. I will be using a stock Exedy clutch, stock injectors. Converting over to a MAP load system with the use of an Apex'i AFC and dyno tuning it to see what we can pull out of it before it goes tracking.

Anyone interested in a stock LX rear swaybar?

The whole package was sold so I could afford buying a new car.
