Does anyone one on this forum own a 4WD protege ?

Is the firewall any different ?

What about the shifter, i took a look at my GTR trany and it looks like a cable shifter and the FWD trany is rods no ?

What about the drive shaft ...

Mehhhhhh .... i guess i got to find a 4WD Protege afterall and do a cavity search on it.

Mike Moss had a 4wd one that he recently sold, he might be able to answer some questions.

the driveshaft tunel is wider so you can fit the exhasut and the driveshaft .... but i am not sure about the firewall. is it different or not.

the GTR box is stronger than the GTX box....

the shafts on the 4wd are actualy smaller than the FWD as the power is spread out more so there is no need for the bigger shafts...

as far as the 4wd conversion... theres a guy on fordlaser.com that has done it, but it cost a small fortune and took alot of time and effort.... a tunnel had to be fabricated... and room for the 4wd box at the front had to be made...

yes the fuel tank on the 4wd has a hump in it, it has 2 pumps, one is a transfer pump...
