97up Escort w/ a turboed BP???

Hi all, here is my idea. For some reason I love the looks of the 97+ Escorts (the sedans not the ZX2) and I know that they're on the BG chassis. I want to drop a turboed DOHC BP into one if it will work. My question is will it work (i.e. motor mounts, hood clearences, etc.). If so I'm gonna start my project rolling soon. Any suggestions or ideas to make this work?

The BP will bolt right into a 97+ chassis. The motor mount locations are identical to the 1st Gen Pro/2nd Gen Escort. Hood clearance won't be an issue, either. However, making it work is a different story....

you could alway swap out the differential to get the axels to work.
and since the motor mount are the same. i think it would be possible .i know nothing of ecu's and wiring but im sure you can doe something about it.

Does Iowa do smogs? That'd probably be an issue, seeing as you might not end up running an OBD II computer.

nope, no smog checks in my county. thank god, because neither of my cars (my pro and my 94 z28) or my 83 k10 longbed probally wouldn't pass!!! Even if I can't get a BP to work I might still plan on buying one and try to sqeeze in a ztec from a zx2.

the bp will fit in it but you will need everyting that under the hood from a protege lx or a escort gt. you will need a harness and cpu too.
