1.8l bpt upgrade info needed

i'm tryin to find the specs on the bpt with not much luck. i'm trying to build my own version of the bpt by using my stock bp engine with some mods of course. i know some about it but my question have to do with the computer, injectors, intake, head, and cams. i'm not sure what the difference is in these parts and thats what i'm trying to figure out for my rebuild. if you know anything about this let me know. and if you know where to get some of these parts or maybe the whole protege gt-x let me know.

Well, as soon as the site starts working again, you ought to be able to find some good info with the search.

You'll need the computer (or an equivalent) and new injectors (the stock 255cc injectors are only good for about 155-160hp), but the stock head is better than the GTX head, the cams should be fine, and same with the intake. Braden (Turboge) is using all that on his car (head/cams/intake) with better results than his GTX motor, although he did port and polish his NA head.

Hey dude, if you get this done successfully...make sure you document every step/process. That could be very valuable information, I know I'd like to get my hands on it.

After we swap the BPT in to the protege (after the snow melts). We plan to rebuild the origional engine with a few mods and go DOHC. It would be great to be able to convert it into a custom BPT.

edwin you should know this already. i told you that i'm rebuilding my stock motor and adding the gtx stuff to it. the head is fine just needs valve seals. the rings are bad and that whats causing it to smoke. but my plan is to bore it out and install new forged pistons with harden tops for boost and new wrist pins and rings. and on the head i'm going to install new valve seals and high rpm springs with new retainers. so the engine is going to be ok

Looks like you've got things sorted out for yourself and seem to know about converting NA engine into a turbo.
Good Luck!
