Post Winter Wheels

For those who are interested - got 15" steel wheels from Costco to mount my Blizzak's to. They actually had a listing for P5's. The COSTCO part number is 121878 (X42554) made by MACPEK. Price - $37.00 CDN + taxes ea. Not sure if the US part numbers are the same, so be careful.

Got a great deal on the Blizzaks (from another source - legit) for $42 CDN ea. Had Costco mount them to the rims above for the rim price + $8. I installed one on my rear wheel to verify brake clearance. Fit was ok.

one highly over simplified comment...

Bridgestone makes found different Blizzak tires for vehicles our size. Three of them have a Q max speed rating (99mph|160k/h) and one is a uni-diretional with an H rating (130mph|210k/h).

The three Qs are the Blizzak MZ-01, MZ-02, and WS-50. The odd ball is the LM-22 which is not made of the same "ice gripping" compound that the others use for the first ~60% of the tire.

I know that most people do not go ripping around in their winter tires too much, but it is something to keep in mind.

What tire size did you use with those 15 inch Costco rims? Curious cause I found some descent tires but don't know what size I should use

Not positive, but I think the tire size is 205/55/15's - wider than most, but at $42 CDN each I can't complain.

Where did you buy the tires and what kind of blizzaks are they?

Got them direct from Bridgestone/Firestone (Canada) - it was an employee/family/friend deal. I believe that the model is WS 50

Damn.. that's a SWEEET deal man.

u'r lucky. =)

I went to Costco last weekend and the lady at that tire centre told me that they've stopped selling wheels throughout Costcos in Canada. Apparently she was wrong since u bought 'em (in Ontario I assume).

Anyone know if the other Greater Vancouver Costco's sell wheel's? I went to the one in Richmond on Bridgeport.

thx
