Question Will these wheels work? (1st Gen LX)

I have the stock wheels with 185/60/14 tires, and I wondered if the newer 5-spoke Mazda wheels with 4 lug nuts will work. I am totally ignorant to offsets and the like, and I don't want to have my speedometer off when I drive.

These are the wheels I am interested in, they are 14 inches:

Will they fit with my tires on a '91 LX without any hassle?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Yep, they'll bolt right on. Just make sure you use tires with the same circumference and there will be no difference.

FYI, Mazda use hub-centeric wheels, meaning the wheel is centered on the hub by a machined surface on the rim that mates to the hub. Most others center the wheel with the wheel studs, so when you use different rims you have to take this into consideration. Often you can buy a insert for the rim to make it fit, but all Protege/Miata rims have it already.

Thank you

Thank you for your help. I think those wheels will look really good, and it's a relief to know they will fit - I appreciate it. If I get'em, I'll post some pics.

I was wondering, what car is that wheel from?

True, it isn't bad looking for a stock rim, and the rim would look nice on a 1st gen. I wouldn't mind getting a set of those if the price were about $80 a piece or less.

IslandPro

Please post your pics! Are yours 15 inches? If so, how did you make them work (what tires, offset, etc.)

Thanks.

F'n sweet.

Guess I'mna have to find a 3rd gen dude that's willing to part with his rims for a low price (after the person buys some aftermarket ones, of course).

These would be nice for daily driving.

IslandPro, can you weigh both of your wheels, the old stock steelie you had and the new one? I don't care if the tire is on the wheel, just so long as both rims have a tire on them when you weigh them.

Then, I could save up and get some rims for autox later on.

Wow. They're lighter than the stock rims. Were your stock rims the 14" steelies or the 13"ers?
Since your sig says you have an LX, I'm assuming you had the 14"ers?

Thanks again.
