I have 2001 Protege with stock 16" rims.
What size tire should I buy?
I was thinking:
205/40/16
205/45/16
205/50/16
or stock 195/50/16

also, can I fit 215 tires on the rim?

my car is also lowered 1.5" with Eibachs

 

a 205/45/16 is probably the best to keep your speedo in line. it will read 60mph when you are doing 59mph.

a 205/40/16 would put your speedo out by a bit - showing 60 when you are actually only doing 57.

i guess it also depends on how nice your roads are too.

i'll have to defer to rishie about your other question although i'd be pretty sure you will not get a 215 on there.

if you will check closely...you won't find a 215 that the maker recommends you can put on a 6 inch wheel like ours....7 inch is the minimum.

I'd like to get 205/45/16 as well (A520 or T1S for autocross)..
unfortunately they're not approved for mounting on 6.0" wide rims.
The P5 stock rims are 6.0" right?
