Tire sizes??

I'm looking to put different tires on my sedan eventually. Are there any different tire sizes that I could use so that I wouldn't have to recalibrate my spedo?

alright i went to a tire place today to buy some new tires , when i was about to pay i told him that my tire size was 195/50/16 but the tire that i wanted only made 205/50/16. so i asked him would that tire size would fit my car. his reply was no.(is that true?)(and if it is can i go with 205/45/16?)

the problem with going bigger than 195's on our STOCK rims is that the stock rims are 6 inch rims...and once you go above 195's MOST tire makers don't RECOMMEND putting their wider tires on them...but rather show a 7 inch rim as the minimum RECOMMENDED with rim.....its their margin of safety....does it mean that you can NOT put those tires on the stock rims? that they will absolutely not fit? NO....but it also means that if you do put them on your stock wheels and something bad happens....the tire maker has an OUT and most likely will not cover ANY PART of the tire warrantee....or be liable for any damages.

205/50 should fit the skinny stock rims better than 205/45 ..
as best i can remember, the only 205/45 tire i could find rated for a 6" rim is the Pirelli PZero system/giallo.
