I will definitely do more research before committing to rim/tire combo. I looked at 225/45 next to 205/40 and they looked huge. If they will fit it will give the car a much more agressive look.
Not a problem. I'm interested to see if this fitment would work for a daily driver, as it would give the car a very aggressive stance!

Take care,
Jim

Yeah, but they use 17s not 16s. Furthermore, they've been modified to make it fit - not to mention that the sedans can fit slightly larger wheels/tires than the P5. I would love to put 225/45/17s on my car, but there is no way it will not rub without some rolling and possibly wheel spacers or other modifications. After all, this setup would be 1.25" wider, and almost 1.5" taller than the stock setup.

I've been refering to 16's all along... Have no plan for 17's.

Yes, I know. Rowan mentioned that the 225/45 size was used on Speed World Challenge touring cars and I was just clarifying that the wheel size on those cars are 17s not 16s. Also, just because they use a wheel on the speed cars, doesn't mean that they will fit street cars.

Thanks for the insight. From what I see sitting in my living room (gotta love being single, and get away with things like that!,) the 205/50's are beefy enough for me.

Now for the damn snow to melt.....

Thanks,
Jim

17x7's

I found your recipe after I bought my tires and I thought I would have a rubbing problem after reading your recipe. I got Motegi FF6's 17X7's, 42MM offset and Yokohama AVS100 215/40/17. And there is no rubbing with a full load. But thanks for all of the work that you put into to figuring things out like that.

On what car? A P5, Sedan, what? Also are you dropped at all?

That's why you're not rubbing. I think the fitment guide is more for people that are lowered.. but I could be wrong.

Rishie, do you think a set of 215/40/17 with a +45 offset will rub on a P5 with MSP springs? I've heard that it might.

Rims and tires size

Thanks for writing back! I have one more question? I am going to buy Enkei CDR-9 17 inch rims with 215/40/17 tires with a width of 7.5. Will this rub at all? And what tires should I go with Wangli or Yokohoma Spec-2. I heard the Wanli is better?

what about those of us with 4 lugs?
I hear the PCD is 4x100 (like VW and Honda), but is the offset the same as the 5 lug cars?
IM an autocross so large rims arent important, but w i d e is.
Can you confirm the PCD and offsets?
