you would buy a roller instead of just renting it? We could have a central ny fender rolling party and all pitch in to rent one from somewhere. I still need to get the rest of the CNY mazda crew (all 4 of them not including us) on this forum

eastwood has a set-up with the roller and heat gun on ebay for $250 +shipping - i thought that seemed like a good deal, considering the roller goes for that out of their catalog. plus, i get a heat gun out of the deal. i haven't really called around to see if any local places rent them. i don't like the idea of those on-line rental places, either. the biggest issue i have with them (if you want to call it an "issue") is that when all is said and done, i've spent $80+ to rent a fender roller, when i can get my own for $250. use it on three cars and its paid for itself.

Using Chris' exceedingly brilliant idea* and rolling those three cars drops the price to $25/car--in that case you'd need to roll ten cars to break even with the new roller.

*I organized a local fender rolling party last winter

How did you choose who got to be the guinea pig for practice?
