Painting Steelies

My black 1999 Protege has the stock 14" rims with wheel covers. It will probably stay that way until I buy new rims next spring. I was thinking about just takeing off the wheel covers and leaving the steelies exposed. The problem is that my steelies are looking a little bit brown/rust coloured. What kind of paint should I use to paint these? Is there anything I should be concerned about when painting steelies? I want to go for the all black look.

dude, just paint your wheel covers. itll look better that way than just having the steelies exposed(even if they are freshly painted), and easier.
