P5 tires balanced?

I was looking at my tires today and noticed that they had been "balanced" with some crappy weights clamped on the outside of the rims. Wait... the Dunlops are balanced from the factory why do they have weights? Then I noticed the red dot that is supposed to be lined up with the valve stem was way off, no wonder they had to balance them. Is this the Dealer's fault or Mazda's? I can't believe Dunlop would let Mazda deliver their tires like this.

Yah but if they had been mounted correctly they wouldn't need as much (if any) weight...

That's what I'm saying... the Dunlops are balanced from the factory. They have a RED dot on the side wall that you are supposed to line up to the valve stem, to make balancing easier.

Anyway time for Dick Clark... Happy New Year!

So what makes the tires become unbalanced again when driving them for a while? Flat spots? Driving thru pot holes?
