Need some help here....

Greetings,

I just became the proud new owner of a 2003 Protege 5, Laser Blue Mica. I'm eventually going to replace the rims. The sizes I'm considering are 215/45/17 x 7(.5) (the size on the Mazda Speed), but I think I'll have to lower the car for it to look good. The other size I'm looking at is 215/35/18 x 7(.5). If I go with this size will I NEED to lower the car & would I need to have the speedometer recalibrated? Or, would I need to go a little bigger with the tire, say maybe a 225/35/18? I'm sorry if you all already covered this. I'm new to this forum. Any info &/or advice you all can provide will be greatly appreciated....

Chuck

Sorry guys....

Just saw the first post of this topic. Any additional info will be greatly appreciated. As for the rims I'm considering. Ace's A198 Matig's, which happen to look like the Nakayama 6 speed's. Any advice on which brand is better? I'm also considering Arospeed's Crazy 8's in Gunmetal, but I've been told with the Laser Blue Mica color, silver rims will really benefit the look of the car. I know it's my choice, but I want to make sure I make the right choice. Also ARD or anyone can you explain the offset term so I can better understand. This will be the first car I've owned that I'm putting rims on & don't understand the terminology just yet. Again all info is appreciated. I'm new to the import tuning world.....

Thanks,
Chuck

Well.. I have a Laser Blue P5 and I'm most definitely getting either gunmetal, hyper black, or HMC black wheels. It all comes down to opinion I guess.
