Kumho KW11 Winter Tire and others
Does anyone have any comments, either good or bad on this tire? I'm looking at running a set of 185/65R14, and the price at www.tiretrend.com is $55 each (http://www.tiretrends.com/tire_info.php3?detailID=5167) , which sounds like a great deal to me, if the tire is decent of course.
Also, I've been considering the BF Goodrich Winter Slalom (also sold as Canadian Tire Nordic WinterTrac). Anyone have experience with these as well?
Lastly, I used Canadian Tire's Nordic IceTrac last year on my Civic, we never got too much snow around here, but it seemed decent. I suspect that tire is made by Uniroyal-Goodrich, using a design from Kleber's KrisAlp 1 tire (another Michelin owned tire company, based in France). Anyone used these in more severe winter conditions?
I'm just looking for decent snow tires, not necessarily premium.

I have those on my P5.
So far so good. We didn't get too much snow last winter but one event sticks out in my mind.
Traffic was diverted onto a dirt road cause of an accident. It was one of the few heavy snowfalls. Well the road was completely covered in snow. Traffic came to a standstill at the bottom of a steep incline. others were getting stuck trying to go up the hill. Most would be stuck by half way. I waited my turn after some abondoned the hill and turned back. I went after a SUV and I climbed the hill just as eiasily as the 4wd.
