Window chip repair

Got a chip on my window today on my way back from Banff .... I'm thinking of getting maintenance on my car done this Sat at the dealer. Should I get them to fix it at the same time? Or is it cheaper to get it done somewhere else? Or are there free 'chip repair' tents at Canadian Tires in Calgary that I can go to instead?

Hey Orange, every time i get a chip i go to apple auto glass, it's like $25 to have it repaired, they do an awsome job.

Hey Orange,

There is a place in town that gives a warranty with their repair, so that if they break your window trying to repair it, they cover it.

I can't remember what the place was called but it's here in Calgary. I'll consult with my wife and post the name later.

I think it was pretty close to what everybody else charged. I think the price difference was like $2.

I was horrified when I found out that some places will not replace your windshield if they broke it while trying to repair it.

You know, I just looked at some of Snype's pics at the CPC website (http://snype451.no-ip.com/ProtegeClu....php?page=news), and Snype's windshield crack is in the EXACT spot where my windshield cracked. Probably just a coincidence, but I still find it a bit curious at this point.

Oh...and it looks like Nick has a crack right along that same area as well.

Hi Orange;

I am Jayrox's wife. We got a chip in the first couple months and did alot of checking around Calgary to get the best deal. I ended up taking it to Dynasty Auto Glass 411 - 36 Avenue NE (just west off of Edmonton Trail) Not only did he (Darcy) warranty the windshield while doing the repair but he warrantled the chip repair (if it spreads further he will take the 30 bucks off of the price of the new windshield). Nice guys and good work

I hope this info helps

Thanks everyone for their info. I will definitely check out Dynasty. I guess there is no free meal in Calgary ...

I'm glad my damage is just a chip, and not the big crack that Snype & others have ... With my windshield extremely dirty the past few days, it's getting less noticeable too!
