Well, we've "tried" to get some meets and stuff organized through the forum, but posting in reply to someone's set date is kinda bunk. There has to be another way of doing it... How about a poll with 2 seperate days, and a "can't make it" option? Would that work a little better? Just pick two dates that are fairly open, well in advance so people can plan ahead, and have a poll selecting them? I work except for Friday and Sunday, so I can't make it to any that have been setup so far... Just a thought...

Please post your suggestions. Maybe even a "phone list" and have someone set something up, and phone everyone to confirm. Just throw your suggestions out here!

 

Yeah, you should make a poll with three dates and one with 'Can't make it'

and then people should just post up if they can make it or not, and why not.......

I got snuffed from Vancouver's last meet cause I couldn't come, but then I was one out of 20 people, so ya know, you can't please everyone hehe

 

I think the 'in advance' portion should be given as early as possible so people can align things with work etc.

set time every month.... that way, there's always plenty of warning.....

 

I agree. I know that I am not there any more but, I say just pick a day, 2 weeks in advance and just stick to it. If you can come, great, if you can't, then 'we'll' see you next month. Plain and simple. Make it easy for everyone to understand.

 

Exactly. Now if we could just figure out a nice way to relate faces and real names to online nicks!

Lets try to make it happen! Set a date a week or so from now, just to see who can make it b4 the holidays. Whoever can make it does. We can put names to faces, get some ideas flowin, you know juss to see how it goes. We just need a little bit of commitment to meetings b4 we can get nething started for a club or whatever.

 

pick a date and i'll see what i can do. i'm pretty bad at making it to these things but i'm off work from the 21st until the new year. only out of town 26-29 probably.

Let's give this a try & see how it works. Problem with sticking to a date & let people show up is that with the small crowd we have, we may end up having 2 people meeting. Hope we get to a certain critical mass that someone just needs to post date / time / location and enough people are bound to show up!

 

Maybe set a minimum attendance of 4 or 5 ppl and if it's less than that, then call the meet off.

 

Are you guys speaking meets or club meetings? As alcoholiday said we have a set day of the month for our club meeting but will probably have diffenerent times for Show & Shine meets. Having said that, we will probably not have a S&S until spring for the earliest.

So we picked a date and who makes it, makes it. The last two meetings we've had have seen different people with a few of the regulars. We picked it so as to suit the majority. 3rd Wednesday of the month except December seems to work.

We had 13 at our last meeting but 3 of those were friends of one of the members.
