I think I recruited two more to the group

So I was in JBs Power Centre this afternoon to pick up some caliper paint. As I was paying for it the guy asked me if it was for the yellow P5 out front (big glass windows and parked in front of the doors, I guess he couldn't miss it). Anyway, I said yes and he said he also had one but black. So we got talking and I mentioned this group and he knew nothing about it, so I told him he should drop on by. He also has a buddy with a silver P5 so we may see both of them here. Woohoo, more for the next meet .

I also got to see his car and it is so nice. He has it lowered, new AEM intake, new exhaust and new CD deck. Seeing the intake and talking with him, it made me decide which one to choose between the Ractive and the AEM. He gave me a listen and it sounds great.

So this got me thinking that we need some cards or something to spread around when we meet people with Mazdas. I started to do up one and I'll post the results so we can get people's comments. I'm also thinking this would be good to put under windshields in parking lots.

Cheers
Chris

He said the Ractive was like the APC products (A Piece of Crap). Maybe the tube is okay but the filter is paper and you cannot clean it whereas the K&N one is washable with cleaners. I did a search of this site and found some good info on the K&N stuff.

Also, the fit appears to be much better on the AEM than the Ractive. If you saw Jay's rely to Sandman's post here in the regional section (must figure out how to post a link), you can see his pics where it rubs on some other parts in the engine. Also, the AEM is lower in the engine compartment so I would assume make it pull in cooler air as opposed to the Ractive which sits higher. Don't really know which is better but I know I did not like the touching stuff.

hmmm good point..

hout much is the AEM?? I can get teh reactive for $120.. my buddy just got an injen and paid $320, a bit too rich for my blood jsut for a short intake, I would pay it for a cold air but not a short intake..

oh and what color are you painting your calipers?? how much was the paint we want to re-paint ours like we said before but just not sure what color or how much the paint is..

invitation cards

Hey chris and everyone else reading this thread.

A while back there was a thread about just this very topic and Sir Nuke and I both came up with designs for business card sized invitations you can print and leave under a wiper, etc.

Here's the link:

I've tagged a bunch of p5s already.. Almost tagged the same yellow one twice too! Saw it at home depot one day, then saw the exact same one a couple days later somewhere else..

Thanks Jason. Gee did not even figure to do a search for something like that. Silly ne. I figured it was better than scribbling something on a peice of paper and making the guy think he got a ticket. I wonder how the response is from stuff like that.

Hmm, I'm at Home Depot often (old house, you know) and nothing on my windshield so it was nto me you tagged.

Hey Brycer79, the paint is called VHT brake caliper paint and it cost me $12 for the can. They have several colours so much more selection than using the engine paint.

Cheers
Chris
